3D experimentation, the Nishika N8000

For some months I am investigating 3D photography from all its aspects: 360 panorama, lens 3D rendering and lenticular. I have something in mind and I will share one day.

The idea is: what makes us feel that a picture provides a 3D feel or not...

What does it mean ?

A simple example is this type of 3D effect, called lenticular. When you check this lenticular pics taken by TKBmedia (and his others) and compare with his other (great) B&W pictures, you really feel something is missing. What is missing ? That's my current quest.

I had to experiment (again) lenticular photography. I had some experiences in this domain in the mid-90's when the result was on print. Since then, Photoshop and GIF arrived, while film disappeared.

I was super lucky to find a brand new Nishika 8000 kit in the US. This 1989 kit was 100% new, still under plastic seal and with its VHS user guide tape (man, that was innovative at that time). No humidity signs. Mint !

The camera has a Japanese name and a Nikon look but it is 100% made in the USA. It is definitely not Nikon quality. It is a toy and the leather case of the camera looks more expensive than the camera itself.
It comes with a very decent 2-bulb flashlight. Really, it was great job at that time.

It was funny that the pack was shipped with a free film to be processed by September ...1994.
