Shooting Lightnings
in Tokyo
In Japan, the rain falling on June 5th is called Kusuri-furu, the medicine rain and the days is called the Kusuri-bi, the medicine day. This is also the day where demons rain down from the sky. This is the day we hang kusudama to repell them.
On June 5th, demons were seriously falling on Shinjuku.
These 6 strikes were shot in a single frame with my iPhone SE ...from kitchen.
Let me introduce the winners, from left to right:
- DNP tower
- DoCoMo tower, with 2 strikes !
- Confort Garden Tower (behind the dark one)
- Tokyo City Hall
- Shinjuku Center building
I could make a movie of the strike. I slowed down the movie by 50%. I made it square 1080x1080px to better fit Instragram's format.
Unfortunately the movie was shot at 24fps. I guess it would be more interesting to shoot at 120 or 240fps allowing better slow motion. Now, being at the right place at the right time shooting at 240fps requires some resources and extra luck...
